Dr. Ella Hong, M.D.
Director of Olive Psychiatry
About me:
I completed the first three years of residency in Michigan and then moved to finish my residency at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). I worked in the Mood Brain & Development Unit and also with the Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry team, collaborating with others on medically complicated patients seeking tertiary care.
For my fellowship, I worked in the Behavioral Endocrinology Branch at the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), working to debunk the myths about women’s mental health and to bring light to important issues such as Postpartum changes, Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder, and Perimenopausal changes.
I also value psychotherapy as an important part of the treatment. It is an important tool in understanding ourselves and our approach to treatment. I am actively learning to be an active participant/therapist in our care.
